Meet Nate
Nate grew up in the woods of New Hampshire, where he developed a love for the outdoors, skiing, and the night sky. Summers at Camp Takodah deepened his connection to nature and community, as well as introduced him to outdoor education and leadership.
He went on to study astrophysics at Union College, returning to Takodah each summer as a trip leader and mentor. After graduation, he pursued freestyle skiing and film projects in the winter while continuing his work at camp. These experiences ultimately led him to Truckee in 2015, where for five years he taught math and physics to skiers at Sugar Bowl Academy. He continues his work in education through math support at Tahoe Expedition academy.
Nate’s diverse background allows him to connect easily with students, blending his lifelong curiosity about the natural world with a calm, supportive teaching style. By making challenging concepts personal and relatable, he fosters deeper understanding and confidence in his students.
